Meet Monica
Violist | Violinist | Vocalist | Educator
Music has been part of my story from the very beginning— singing in church as a child, taking piano and clarinet lessons in elementary school, and joining choir and school musicals throughout middle and high school. I started my Suzuki violin journey at age six and added the viola in middle school, and I haven’t put them down since— spending over 20 years with an instrument in hand.
I continued to play through high school and into college, where I spent time as a music major before shifting paths to study education and psychology. Over the years, I’ve performed in orchestras, ensembles, recitals, school musicals, and even at Carnegie Hall— each experience deepening my love for music and the connection it creates.
I began offering violin and viola instruction as a teenager, and have had the joy of walking alongside students as they discover their voice through music. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with children in homes, classrooms, clinics, and community settings. No matter the environment, one thing has stayed the same: I believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported as they learn.
Today, I’m blending my love for music with my background in child development and behavior— offering lessons that are calm, flexible, and encouraging.
If you're looking for a teacher who meets your child where they are and helps them grow in confidence— one note at a time— I’d be honored to work with your family.
